Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) refers to a constellation of satellites providing signals from space that transmit positioning and timing data to GNSS receivers. The receivers then use this data to determine location. Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) plays a significant role in high precision navigation, positioning, timing, and scientific questions related to precise positioning. Of course, in the widest sense, this is a highly precise, continuous, all-weather and a real-time technique. By definition, GNSS provides global coverage. Adena Doran pursued her Ph.D. in Earth Sciences from Technological University, Marseille. Her primary areas of scholarly and research interests lie in the fields of geospatial positioning, satellite constellation and global positioning systems. She is serving as a Research Associate at Technical Institute, Dundee. Doran has authored and edited several texts, which include articles, technical papers and book chapters, in the fields of global positioning systems, positioning calculations and satellite-based augmentation systems. She has presented over 30 papers at international symposiums and conferences. She has been also awarded “GIS Professional of the Year Award” for her outstanding research contributions in the fields of Remote Sensing and GIS.
