Experiment can provide hints toward the structure or mathematical form of a theory and it can provide evidence for the existence of the entities involved in our theories. Finally, it may also have a life of its own, independent of theory. Scientists may investigate a phenomenon just because it looks interesting.
This book will make you understand the working principle of many common devices through their applications in different experiments with particular aims.
In the process, they deepen their understanding of the relations between experiment and theory, mostly in atomic and nuclear physics. This book is designed to aid students in the development of core practical skills in physics. Jack Wood graduated with a Master's degree from the Energy Department of the Institute for Chemical & Mechanical Engineering, Moscow. He received a Ph.D. in plasma physics from the Scientific Research Institute of Electrophysical Apparatus, a Doctor of Science from Atomic Energy Institute, and the title of Professor in Plasma Physics from Atomic Energy Institute. He is a State Prize Winner and is the author of more than 100 scientific articles.
